On Friday, the Northern Illinois Huskies (9-2) will be going for their sixth win in a row when they face the Western Michigan Broncos (8-3). During the 2013 season, the Huskies beat the Broncos 33-14 at home.

Northern Illinois have figured out how to win close games this season, doing so again last Tuesday when they beat Ohio 21-14 on the road. They rushed for 141 yards in that win and they were able to convert on six of their 13 third down opportunities.

The Huskies have relied heavily on their rushing game this season, which has averaged 250.7 yards per game through 11 games. Running back Cameron Stingily has rushed for 749 yards this year with a team-best 11 scores. Wide receiver Da'Ron Brown has caught 52 passes for 880 yards and six touchdowns.

Last Saturday, Western Michigan won their sixth consecutive game when they beat Central Michigan 32-20 on the road. Their defense held CMU to just 70 rushing yards in that game and they forced them into committing four turnovers.

Through 11 games, the Broncos are 24th in the country in scoring with 35.8 points per game. Sophomore quarterback Zach Terrell has completed 70 percent of his passes this season with 22 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. Running back Jarvion Franklin has 1,433 rushing yards and is second in the nation with 23 rushing touchdowns.
