The Northern Illinois Huskies, who are coming off of a blowout win in their opening game, will go on the road on Saturday to face the Northwestern Wildcats.

Northern Illinois rushed for 424 yards against Presbyterian last Thursday on their way to a 55-3 victory. In total, the Huskies had 635 yards on the day and held Presbyterian to just 127. Northern Illinois had no turnovers in the game and were able to force their opponents to cough it up three times.

Huskies running back Akeem Daniels led the team in rushing yards with 118, but the star of the show was fellow RB Joel Bouagnon, who had 97 yards and four touchdowns on 16 carries. Wide receiver Da'Ron Brown caught seven passes in the win for 91 yards and a score.

Northwestern were expected to take care of California pretty easily at home last Saturday, but their defense struggled throughout the game and they ended up losing 31-24. Northwestern did show their fighting spirit, though, by coming back from being down 31-7 in the third quarter. California had 414 total yards in their win, with 300 of those yards coming on the ground.

Wildcats quarterback Trevor Siemian had an up-and-down game in the loss by completing 23 of his 44 passes for 229 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Running back Justin Jackson rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown on eight carries.
