Saturday afternoon, the North Carolina State Wolfpack will take on the North Carolina Tar Heels.

The North Carolina State Wolfpack had a close game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons early on but they exploded later on to take a 42 - 13 victory.  NC State got the lead in the 1st quarter on a 2 yard TD run by Tony Creecy but  Wake Forest closed out the quarter with a field goal to make it a 7 - 3 game.  NC State started to pull away in the 2nd quarter with 2 touchdowns to make it a 21 -3 game at the half.  And early in the 3rd quarter, a 75 yard touchdown run off a reverse by NC State’s Bryan Underwood basically put the game out of reach for Wake Forest.  The Demon Deacons scored a field goal after that and a touchdown later on but 2 more TDs from the Wolfpack made a comeback impossible.  If the Wolfpack racks up yards and points against the Tar Heels, a win is almost a certainty.

 The North Carolina Tar Heels also had an impressive win in their last game as they ran over the Duke Blue Devils 45 – 20.  It seemed like the rout was on from the beginning as the Tar Heels took a 21 - 7 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.   The Tar Heel lead grew to 38 – 7 by the middle of the 3rd quarter and the Blue Devils were just too far behind to really do anything about their situation.  North Carolina quarterback Marquise Williams was 18 of 27 for 276 yards and 2 TDs.  Williams also rushed for 98 yards and added two more touchdowns on the ground.   Another offensive and defensive showcase by the Tar Heels will make things tough for the Wolfpack on Saturday.
