The New Mexico Lobos (3-7) will have a hard time ending their losing streak as they have to visit the #22 Colorado State Rams (9-1) on Saturday afternoon. Colorado State won this matchup by the score of 66-42 last year.
Last weekend, New Mexico lost their second straight game when they were defeated 28-21 by Utah State. Their defense allowed 658 yards in that loss, including 291 yards on the ground.
The Lobos have scored 27.6 points per game this year, but their defense has struggled, giving up 34.3 points per game to opposing offenses. Running back Jhurell Pressley has averaged a very impressive 9.1 yards per carry this season and has 11 touchdowns. Quarterback Lamar Jordan has only thrown for 699 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions, but he has also rushed for 462 yards with two more scores.
Colorado State won their eighth consecutive game two weeks ago when they routed Hawaii 49-22 at home. The Rams had 293 rushing yards in that win while their defense was able to force three turnovers.
Through their first 10 games, the Rams are one of the best passing teams in the country by averaging 314.3 passing yards per game. Quarterback Garrett Grayson has had a great season so far by throwing for 3,024 yards with 26 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Senior running back Dee Hart has 909 rushing yards with 11 scores.
