The Mississippi State Bulldogs will be looking to move to 3-0 when they face off against the South Alabama Jaguars on Saturday afternoon.

In a game that featured over 1000 yards of offense, Mississippi State held on to beat UAB 47-34 at home. The Bulldogs focused on their ground game in the win and ended up with 292 rushing yards. Mississippi State is currently 13th in the country in scoring with 48 points per game.

The Bulldogs' best player so far this season has been quarterback Dak Prescott, who has passed for 495 yards through two games with eight touchdown passes and two interceptions. Wide receiver De'Runnya Wilson has six catches for 84 yards and three scores.

South Alabama played their first game of the year last Saturday and were able to beat Kent State 23-13 on the road. The Jaguars had 186 rushing yards in the win and their defense held Kent State to just 277 total yards. South Alabama also went the entire game without committing a turnover.

South Alabama's top player in their opening game was running back Jay Jones, who ran for 102 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Quarterback Brandon Bridge completed 15 of his 25 passes in the game for 161 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. Senior cornerback Montell Garner had three tackles and an interception in the win.
