The game of the week this week will be on Saturday between the #1 Mississippi State Bulldogs (9-0) and the #4 Alabama Crimson Tide (8-1). The Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide are currently first and second in the SEC West standings.

Mississippi State kept their perfect season intact last Saturday when they easily beat UT Martin 45-16 at home. They had 520 total yards of offense in that win, including 235 yards on the ground.

So far this season, the Bulldogs have rushed for 254.9 yards per game and they have scored 39.8 points per game against their opponents. Quarterback Dak Prescott has 2,311 passing yards with 18 touchdowns passes, and he has rushed for 779 yards with 11 more touchdowns. Running back Josh Robinson leads the team with 984 rushing yards and he has also scored 11 touchdowns.

Last weekend, Alabama won their fourth straight game when they beat LSU 20-13 in overtime. They only had 315 total yards in that win, but their defense was able to hold LSU to just 76 passing yards.

Through nine games, the Crimson Tide have the second-best defense in the country by only giving up 13.9 points per game. Quarterback Blake Sims has 2,243 passing yards on the season with 17 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Amari Cooper has been one of the best wide receivers in the country by catching 79 passes for 1,215 yards and 10 touchdowns.
