On Saturday, the Michigan Wolverines (4-5) will be visiting the Northwestern Wildcats (3-5), who have lost three games in a row. The Wolverines defeated the Wildcats 27-19 in triple overtime last season.

Michigan played one of the better games of the season last Saturday when they beat Indiana 34-10 on their home field. The Wolverines' defense held Indiana to 191 total yards in that win, including just 24 yards through the air.

The Wolverines have one of the worst passing teams in the country this season by throwing for just 175.1 yards per game. Quarterback Devin Gardner was expected to be a star this season, but he has only thrown for 1,448 yards with eight touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Running back Derrick Green has averaged 5.7 yards per carry and has 471 rushing yards with three touchdowns.

Last Saturday, Northwestern was blown out 48-7 by Iowa on the road for their third straight loss. They had a lot of problems moving the ball in that game, finishing with just 180 total yards against Iowa's defense.

Through their first eight games, the Wildcats are scoring just 19.1 points per game while giving up 23.9 points per game. Their best player has been running back Justin Jackson, who has rushed for 726 yards this season with five touchdowns. Quarterback Trevor Siemian has thrown for 1,564 yards with four touchdowns and six interceptions.
