The #10 Michigan State Spartans (9-2) will be going for their third win in a row when they take on the Penn State Nittany Lions (6-5) on Saturday. The Spartans and the Nittany Lions are currently in second and fifth place in the Big Ten East standings, respectively.

Michigan State played its most impressive game yet last Saturday when they blew out Rutgers 45-3 at home. They had 520 yards of offense in that win, which included 242 yards on the ground alone.

Through 11 games, the Spartans are sixth in the nation in scoring with 43.9 points per game. Junior quarterback Connor Cook has completed 58.7 percent of his passes this season for 2.720 yards, 21 touchdowns and only five interceptions. Jeremy Langford has been one of the best running backs in the country by rushing for 1,242 yards with 17 touchdowns.

Last Saturday, Penn State had their two-game winning streak snapped when they were edged 16-14 by Illinois on the road. Their defense played well in that one, but their offense was only able to gain 265 total yards against Illinois' defense.

The Nittany Lions have been inconsistent on offense this season, but their defense is ranked fourth in the country by only giving up 16.2 points per game. Running back Bill Belton has rushed for 515 yards through 11 games with a team-high six touchdowns.
