On Saturday afternoon, the Memphis Tigers (6-3) will be going for their fourth win in a row when they visit the Tulane Green Wave (3-6). The Tigers are in first place in the American standings right now, while Tulane sits in seventh.

Memphis picked up their fourth conference win of the year last Friday when they defeated Temple 16-13 on the road. Their defense was able to hold Temple to just 298 total yards in that win.

Memphis has one of the best defenses in the country this year by only giving up 18.7 points per game to their opponents. Sophomore quarterback Paxton Lynch has completed 65.1 percent of his passes this season for 2,121 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions. Running back Brandon Hayes has averaged 5.1 yards per carry and has scored five touchdowns.

Last Saturday, Tulane ended their two-game losing skid when they were able to beat Houston 31-24 on the road. They were outgained 432-361 in that win, but their defense did well to force four Houston turnovers.

The Green Wave have only been able to score 19.6 points per game this year while giving up 28.8 points per game. Quarterback Tanner Lee only has 1,356 passing yards this season with 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Freshman running back Sherman Badie has gained 598 yards on the ground this season and has three touchdowns.
