On December 29th, the West Virginia Mountaineers will take on the Texas A&M Aggies in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl at Liberty Bowl memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee.   

The West Virginia Mountaineers finished the season with a 7 - 5 record but it was a season of highs and lows.  Midway through the season, the Mountaineers reeled off a 4 game win streak.  West Virginia followed that win streak with a 3 game losing streak.  The Mountaineers closed out the season with a win over the Iowa State Cyclones that gave them a shot at a bowl game.   Just making it to a bowl game was a surprise for the Mountaineers and the season will become even more of a success if they can come away with a win.

The Texas A&M Aggies will also bring a 7 – 5 regular season record into this game.  But for the Aggies, a 7 - 5 record was a surprise considering the fact that the team opened the year with 5 straight victories.  The Aggies were just 2 -5 the rest of the way with back to back losses against Missouri and LSU closing out the season.  College programs always face a period of transition each year as players leave and new players join the teams. Texas A&M could have adjusted a little better than they did but if they can pick up a win to end the season, it will be something to build on.
