Saturday afternoon, the Kansas Jayhawks will meet the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Kansas Jayhawks came close to upsetting the TCU Horned Frogs last week but they fell just short in the 34 -30 loss.   Kansas wasn’t expected to challenge TCU the way that they did but the Jayhawks pressed the Horned Frogs at every turn early on.  TCU held a slim 13 -10 lead at the half but that lead didn’t hold long.  Kansas scored early in the 3rd to take a 20 - 13 lead and brushed back a TCU touchdown with another score to make it 27 – 17 game.  But TCU would use the rest of the 3rd quarter to mount a rally.  Two touchdowns put them up going into the 4th and with a field goal they were able to hold on for the win.  Kansas played with a lot of spirit and heart and they will probably show the same effort against Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Sooners faced a tough challenge in their last game but they managed to hold on to beat the Texas Tech Red Raiders 42 – 30.  Oklahoma struggled early on and that allowed Texas Tech to take a 21 -7 lead early in the 3rd quarter.  But the Sooners regained their composure and rallied back in the 2nd half.  Oklahoma closed out the 3rd quarter with 2 touchdowns to tie it up.  Texas Tech regained the lead with a field goal early in the 4th but Oklahoma answered those 3 points with 21 straight to pull away for good.  A last second score by Texas Tech had no effect on the final result.  Oklahoma will have to avoid the 3 turnovers that they committed in this game if they want to add another win when they take on Kansas.
