On Thursday night, the #12 Kansas State Wildcats (7-2) will need to beat the West Virginia Mountaineers (6-4) if they want to remain in contention for the Big 12 championship. Last season the Wildcats beat the Mountaineers 35-12 at home.

Kansas State had their five-game winning streak come to an end over the weekend when they lost 41-20 to TCU on the road. They only had 34 rushing yards in that loss, and their defense gave up 553 total yards to TCU's offense.

The Wildcats have thrown for 265.2 yards per game this season and scored 36.2 points per game. Quarterback Jake Waters has been a huge reason for their success this season as he has thrown for 2,169 yards, rushed for 406 yards and he has accounted for 20 of the team's touchdowns. Running back Charles Jones has 430 yards with 11 touchdowns this year.

Last Saturday, West Virginia lost their second consecutive game when they were beaten 33-16 by Texas on the road. In that loss, they had 448 offensive yards, but they were just 3-for-17 on their third down opportunities.

Through 10 games, the Mountaineers are 12th in the nation in passing with 318 passing yards per game. Quarterback Clint Trickett has thrown for 3,173 yards this season with 18 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Trickett's top receiver has been Kevin White, who has caught 91 passes for 1,207 yards and eight touchdowns.
