The Iowa State Cyclones will try to pick up their first win of the year when they take on in-state rival Iowa on Saturday afternoon. The Hawkeyes won this matchup 27-21 on the road last year.

Iowa State came very close to pulling off the upset over Kansas State last weekend, but they gave up 12 fourth quarter points and ended up losing 32-28. They gave up 471 yard sin that loss, including 232 rushing yards. The Cyclones have only scored 21 points per game through two games, which is 111th in the country.

Iowa State's top offensive player has been wide receiver Jarvis West, who has 11 catches, 90 yards and one touchdown through two games. Quarterback Sam B. Richardson has 336 yards this season with a touchdown and three interceptions.

Iowa picked up its second win in as many games on Saturday when they beat Ball State 17-13 at home. They won despite only gaining 219 yards in the game and giving up 455 yards. The Hawkeyes have passed for 296 yards per game this season, which puts them inside of the top 35 in the country.

Iowa's top player this season has been quarterback Jake Rudock, who has completed 68.8 percent of his passes for 572 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions through two games. Wide receiver Kevonte Martin-Manley has 16 catches in those two games for 132 yards.
