The Rice Owls (7-5) will look to end their season on a high note on Christmas Eve when they play the Fresno State Bulldogs (6-7), who haven't won a bowl game since way back in 2007. It is expected to be a high-scoring affair, as both teams gave up over 30 points per game this season.

Rice ended their regular season with their worst performance of the year when they were blown out by Louisiana Tech 76-31 on the road. They had four turnovers in that loss, and their defenses ended up giving up 677 total yards.

The Owls ended up with a winning record this season despite giving up over 30 points per game to opposing offenses. Junior quarterback Driphus Jackson has completed 57.3 percent of his passes this season for 2,524 yards, 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Wide receiver Jordan Taylor has caught a team-high 49 passes for 781 yards and six scores.

Two weeks ago, Fresno State lost to Boise State 28-14 in the Mountain West championship game. They did have a 402-304 yardage advantage in that loss, but they also ended up committing three turnovers.

Through 13 games, the Bulldogs have scored 28.1 points per game, but they have also given up 32.6 points per game. The player to watch out for on Fresno State's offense is wide receiver Josh Harper, who has caught 86 passes this season for 1,072 yards and seven touchdowns.
