On Saturday afternoon, the Georgia State Panthers (1-8) will hope that they can finally end their long losing streak when they face the Troy Trojans (1-8). Troy was able to beat Georgia State by the score of 35-28 last year.

Georgia State lost their eighth consecutive game last Saturday when they were shut out 44-0 by Appalachian State. They had a terrible offensive game in that one by gaining just 62 yards against Appalachian State's defense.

The Panthers have been a one of the worst rushing teams in the nation this season by only averaging 95 rushing yards per game. Their best offensive weapon has been wide receiver Donovan Harden, who has caught 47 passes for 719 yards this season with seven touchdowns. Junior quarterback Nick Arbuckle has 2,519 passing yards this year with 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Troy lost their third straight game last Thursday when they were blown out 42-10 by Georgia Southern on the road. Their defense gave up 461 yards in that loss while their offense was only able to pick up 13 yards through the air.

Through nine games, the Trojans are in the bottom 10 in defense by giving up nearly 40 points per game. Running back Jordan Chunn has rushed for 241 yards this year for Troy and he has a team-high four touchdowns. Quarterback Brandon Silvers has completed 66 percent of his passes for 1,218 yards and five touchdowns.
