The Florida Atlantic Owls (3-6) will be hoping that they can end their two-game losing skid on Saturday afternoon when they go up against the North Texas Mean Green (2-6). The Owls are in fourth place in the Conference USA East standings, while the Mean Green are currently in sixth in the Conference USA West.

Florida Atlantic was in control of their game against UAB last weekend, but they gave up 21 points in the fourth quarter and lost 31-28. In that loss, they were outgained by UAB by nearly 100 yards.

The Owls have scored 24 points per game through nine games season while giving up 35.1 points per game. Quarterback Jaquez Johnson has played well this year by throwing for 1,679 yards with 14 touchdowns, and also rushing for 382 yards and five more scores. Wide receiver Lucky Whitehead has 63 receptions on the season for 621 yards and six touchdowns.

In their last game, North Texas picked up their fourth straight loss when they were beaten 41-21 by Rice on the road. They only had 26 rushing yards in that game and their defense gave up 421 yards.

North Texas has had a hard time moving the ball through the air this season, averaging just 184.1 passing yards per game. Their biggest threat has been wide receiver Carlos Harris, who has caught 45 passes this season for 623 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Antoinne Jimmerson is averaging 4.8 yards per carry and has 424 yards and with four scores.
