Michigan State has had a couple weeks to stew over the 46-27 loss in Eugene to the Oregon Ducks and that doesn't bode well for their in-state comrades Eastern Michigan. The Eagles have the third worst passing passing offense in the nation and must rely on getting the ground game going against the staunch Spartan front 7, something not easily done.

EMU has scored just 3 points the last two weeks while giving up 82. As expected those games resulted in losses, 65-0 in Florida and 17-3 at Old Dominion. The Eagles were able to get a 31-28 season opening against Morgan State but things don't look well as 6+ TD underdogs to Michigan State.

The Spartans want nothing more than to get back on the field to erase the sting of allowing 28 straight points to the Ducks offense after holding a third quarter lead. The Spartans are still ranked #11 in the nation but will have to play their way back into the playoff fold with little signature games left besides back to back matchups with Michigan and Ohio State. MSU will have to be dominant to impress the playoff committee which could back to back whitewashings of Eastern Michigan this week and Wyoming next week.

The duo of Conner Cook and Jeremy Langford will undoubtedly be a handful for Eastern Michigan to handle. Cook threw for 343 yards and 2TD against Oregon but his two interceptions were damning. Langford on the other hand rushed for 1,400+ yards last season but only has 143 through 2 games in 2014. Look for both stars to pad their stats, even if only through one half of action.
