On Thursday night, the East Carolina Pirates (6-2) will visit the Cincinnati Bearcats (5-3) in a game that will feature two of the best passing attacks in the country. The Pirates and the Bearcats are currently tied in second place in the American standings.

Two weeks ago, East Carolina had their five-game winning streak snapped when they were upset 2010 by Temple on the road. They did outgain Temple 428-135 in the game, but they also turned the ball over five times.

The Pirates are third in the nation in passing with 361.3 passing yards per game, and they are averaging 35.9 points per game so far this season. Quarterback Shane Carden has completed 63.9 percent of his passes this season for 2,791 yards, 18 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Running back Breon Allen has 605 yards for six touchdowns and has averaged seven yards per carry.

Cincinnati won their third straight game two weeks ago when they blew out Tulane 38-14 on the road. In that game, they had 479 total yards of offense, including 265 yards on the ground.

The Bearcats have played well on the offensive side of the ball this season, but their defense is giving up 29.8 points per game. Quarterback Gunner Kiel has been their best player by throwing for 2,049 yards with 20 touchdowns and seven picks. Wide receiver Shaq Washington has caught 43 passes this year for 468 yards and three scores.
