On Saturday, the Cincinnati Bearcats (6-3) will attempt to win their fifth game in a row when they take on the Connecticut Huskies (2-7). Last year, the Bearcats were able to blow out the Huskies by the score of 41-16 at home.

Cincinnati moved up in the American standings last Thursday when they were able to beat East Carolina 54-46 at home. They had 572 total yards in that win and their defense was able to force four East Carolina turnovers.

Through their first nine games of the season, the Bearcats are ninth in the country in passing with 322.7 passing yards per game. Sophomore quarterback Gunner Kiel has completed 60.2 percent of his passes this season for 2,485 yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Wide receiver Mekale McKay has caught a team-high 32 passes for 587 yards and seven touchdowns.

In their last game, Connecticut lost for the sixth time in their last seven games when they were beaten 35-21 by Army. They turned the ball over twice in that loss and they were just 3-for-10 on their third down opportunities.

The Huskies have one of the worst offenses in the country this season, averaging just 17.3 points per game against opposing defenses. Quarterback Chandler Whitmer has thrown for 1,471 yards this year with 11 touchdowns and six interceptions. Running back Ron Johnson has averaged just 3.8 yards per carry this year and has two scores.
