On Saturday afternoon, the Brigham Young Cougars (7-4) will be going for their fourth straight win when they take on the California Golden Bears (5-6). Both teams currently have top-25 passing attacks.

Last weekend, BYU played about as well as they could have on both sides of the ball and routes Savannah State 64-0. They had 264 rushing yards in the shut out, but their defense was even more impressive by holding Savannah State to just 63 total yards.

Through 11 games, the Cougars are one of the top 25 teams in scoring by averaging 35.6 points per game. Senior quarterback Christian Stewart has completed 58.2 percent of his passes this season for 1,829 yards, 17 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Stewart's top target has been wide receiver Mitch Mathews, who has caught 63 passes for 801 yards and eight scores.

California lost their second consecutive game last Saturday when Stanford was able to beat them 38-17. They did have 410 yards of offense in that loss, but they also turned the ball over five times.

The Golden Bears have played very well on the offensive side of the ball this season, but their defense is one of the worst by giving up 39.5 points per game. Running back Daniel Lasco has had a good year by rushing for 985 yards with a team-best 12 touchdowns.
