Since a season opening loss to Auburn, the Razorbacks (3-1) have rattled off 3 straight wins while scoring 58 points per game. That number will be put to the test against an improved Texas A&M (4-0) defense that has allowed just a little over 11 points per game this season. Arkansas will score, but do they have the defense to slow down Kenny Hill and the country's 4th best passing attack averaging over 400 yards a game in the air?
Arkansas coach Bret Bielema has harkened back to his days with Wisconsin in the prodding Big Ten with this year's rushing attack. The Razorbacks run for over 320 yards per game behind a dynamic duo of Alex Collins and Jonathon Williams. Together they have run for 881 yards and 12 TD, both numbers that would be leading the country. Texas A&M has yet to allow a rushing TD this season and is giving up a respectable 124 yards per game on the ground. The Razorbacks will test those numbers though as they live and die by the run, with starting QB Brandon Allen failing to throw for over 200 yards in a single game this season (8 TD / 1 INT).
Conversely, A&M QB Kenny Hill hasn't thrown for under 260 yards in a game this season and has at least 2 TD passes in all 4 games. The sophomore is often a victim of his own greatness, limiting his playing time due to big first half blowouts like 73-3 win over Lamar or a 58-6 win over SMU. With Arkansas' potent rushing attack, he'll sure to see all four quarters barring injury and could have moderate success against a Razorback team that is about middle of the pack in pass yards allowed with 233.3 per game.
A&M has scored at least 45 points in each of their last two games against Arkansas, a 45-33 win a year ago coupled with a 58-10 beating in 2012. This year's Razorbacks team has the horses to stick with them though and Arkansas would love nothing more than to go into AT&T Stadium and pull off the win in front of Jerry Jones, class of '65.
