The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are coming off a huge win over the Toronto Argonauts by way of a 64 -14 beating. This game was a slaughter in which Toronto could never get it going. This game has the Tiger-Cats in first place at 2-0 and on their way to a solid season.
Jeremiah Masoli led the charge for the Tiger-Cats by completing 23-of-31 passes for 338 yards, 3 touchdowns and a pick. He also had one of the two rushing touchdowns on the night. He looked solid throughout the game and spread the gall around with 4 different receivers with at least 5 catches. The leading receiver on the night was Bralon Addison who hauled in 3 touchdown passes. He had 6 receptions for 107 yards and an average yard per catch of 17.8. Brandon Banks also had a great game logging 7 catches and 105 yards. The running game spearheaded by Sean Thomas-Erlington who ran for 109 yards on 12 carries.
As a team, the Tiger-Cats had 4 sacks on defense. They were led in tackles by Tunde Adeleke and Cariel Brooks who both had 5 tackles for the game. In the return game, Frankie Williams had 2 kickoff returns for 56 yards and 5 punt returns for a total of 61 yards. In the kicking game, Lirim Hajrullahu was a perfect 3-for-3 with a long of 56 yards.
At face value, this game doesn't seem like it'll be a close one. The Tiger-Cats are coming off an impressive win over Toronto while the Alouettes lost their only game of the season thus far. The Tiger-Cats will be showing up with a well rounded attack while the Alouettes will be without their week 1 starting QB. However, if there is a bright side to this, Vernon Adams Jr. looked pretty good coming in for Antonio Pipkin and might give the Alouettes a much needed boost for this game. All that being said, this might be a tough one for the Alouettes and it is very likely that they start their season off in a 0-2 hole sitting at the bottom of the division.
