Hauling in the majority of that yardage on the receiving end was Greg Ellingson with 9 receptions for 174 and 2 touchdowns. This gave him a whopping 19.3 yards per catch on the night. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are coming into this match up fresh off a 33 - 23 win over the BC Lions. In that game, the Lions started off hot and led the Blue Bombers by 3 at the half. The Blue Bombers came out of halftime on a mission and ended up winning in dominating fashion after having outscored the Lions 19 to 6 in the second half.
The Blue Bombers did this via a balanced attack on the night. Matt Nichols let the way going 21-of-33 through the air for a total of 184 yards and 3 scores giving him an average of 5.6 yards per toss. On the receiving end of those touchdowns were Devin Adams with 5 catches for 73 and a score as well as Drew Wolitarsky, who had 43 yards on 4 catches with 2 touchdowns. Andrew Harris led the Blue Bombers on the ground with 148 yards on 16 carries giving him an average of 9.2 yards per rush. The only rushing touchdown went to Chris Streveler who got that on 14 yards and 5 carries.
Chandler Fenner had 6 tackles on the night while Brandon Alexander and Kerfalla Exume had 5 tackles each. Charles Nelson racked up 60 yards in kick returns and 38 yards in punt returns on the night. The kicking game was led by Justin Medlock who was 1-for-1 on the night with a 30 yard field goal.
The matchup between the Eskimos and Blue Bombers should be a good one as two undefeated teams walk onto the field. Both of these teams have an excellent running game that should be two of the best this season. These two teams have combined for a 3-0 record which tells us that they may be seeing a lot of one another this season. In order for the Blue Bombers to pull of the win, they are going to have to get much more pressure on the QB than they did in their last outing. Trevor Harris torched the BC Lions and if the Blue Bombers aren't ready, they could be next on the list.
