Through their first five games, the Blue Bombers have had by far the top scoring team in the league by putting up a total of 161 points. They are third in the CFL in passing yards, second in passing touchdowns, and they also have the top rushing attack in the league. They have struggled a bit on defense by giving up 113 points, but they do lead the league in interceptions with seven.
Rookie quarterback Chris Streveler has had a very good start to his career, throwing for 615 yards with six touchdowns and just two interceptions; he's also rushed for 228 yards and four more scores. Winnipeg's top running threat has been Andrew Harries, who has rushed for 449 yards on just 68 carries and he's gotten into the end zone on the ground four times. The team's top receiver has been Darvin Adams, who has 13 catches for 245 yards and two scores.
Winnipeg linebacker has arguably been the top all-around defensive player in the league through five games, picking up a league-high 35 total tackles while also grabbing two interceptions. Defensive end Tristan Okpalaugo is looking like he is going to have another strong year for Winnipeg as he has already taken the quarterback down three times this season.
Toronto Argonauts Stats
Toronto has had a very tough time doing anything on the offensive side of the ball this year and currently are tied in last in scoring with just 61 points. They've only turned the ball over seven times, but they are near the bottom of the league in just about every other offensive category. Their defense has been a bit better by giving up just 101 points through four games, but they've only been able to come away with two interceptions so far.
Filling in for the injured Ricky Ray, quarterback James Franklin has done a decent job by throwing for 580 yards with two touchdowns and also rushing for three more scores. The team's top receiver has been S.J. Green, who has 236 receiving yards but no touchdowns yet. James Wilder Jr. has been able to average 4.6 yards per carry this year and has two rushing scores.
Argos defensive end Cleyton Laing has been his team's standout defensive player through four games by picking up three sacks to go along with his nine tackles. Defensive back has also had a solid start to the year by picking up 16 tackles, one interception, and two fumble recoveries. Fellow defensive back Alden Darby has already surpassed is tackle total from last year with 19, though he hasn't been able to pick off an opposing quarterback yet.
