Winnipeg Blue Bombers Stats
Winnipeg has had one of the most well-rounded teams in the CFL this season. Their offense is the highest scoring team in the league thanks in large part to their top-rated rushing attack, which is first in both yards and touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball they are second in the league in points allowed and they are tied for the league-lead in team sacks with 19.
Blue Bombers quarterback Matt Nichols has done well to complete nearly 65 percent of his passes this season, but he's only thrown 18 touchdowns while being picked off 13 times. The team's top wide receiver has been Darvin Adams, who has caught 61 passes for 1,028 yards and 10 touchdowns. Running back Andrew Harris is currently second in the league in rushing yards with 1,355 and is fifth in the league in rushing touchdowns with eight.
Second-year linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox has had a very good year for Winnipeg by picking up 81 total tackles, six sacks, and two forced fumbles. Defensive back Kevin Fogg is currently tied for second in the league with four interceptions, while linebacker Adam Bighill leads the CFL in forced fumbles with four. Defensive lineman Craig Roh is the team leader in sacks with seven.
Edmonton Eskimos Stats
Edmonton is in the upper-half of the league in a lot of major statistical categories this season. Their offense has scored 449 points through 17 games and their passing attack is ranked second in yards gained and third in touchdowns. On defense the Eskimos have given up quite a few points (447), but their aggression has often paid off as they are tied for the league lead in sacks with 45 and they are second in interceptions with 20.
Edmonton quarterback Mike Reilly has arguably been the best signal caller in the CFL this year as he has been able to throw for 5,242 yards with 29 touchdowns and 17 interceptions while also rushing for 13 more touchdowns. Reilly's top receiver has been D'haquille Williams, who should easily make the 2018 CFL All-Star Team considering he leads the league in receiving yards (1,534) and he's tied for second in receiving touchdowns with 10.
Defensive end Kwaku Boateng has been fantastic for the Eskimos in his second year in the league by picking up 26 tackles and nine sacks. The team's leading tackler this season has been veteran linebacker J.C. Sherritt, who has 91 tackles while also picking up three sacks and two interceptions. Defensive back Aaron Grimes has also had a solid year by picking off three passes while also coming up with 60 tackles for his team.
