Montreal Alouettes Stats
Montreal has played poorly on both sides of the ball this season, though it's their offense that has been by far the worst in the CFL. They have only been able to score a total of 253 points through their first 15 games and they are near the bottom of the league in just about every other major offensive category. Their defense hasn't been much better, as they have given up 448 total points while only coming up with 30 team sacks and 15 interceptions.
Montreal quarterback Johnny Manziel has struggled in his five games for the team, throwing for 872 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for 116 yards on 21 carries. Wide receiver BJ Cunningham has arguably been the team's top offensive threat by catching a team-high 52 passes for 631 yards and three touchdowns.
One of the standout performers for the Alouettes on defense has been linebacker Henoc Muamba, who is second in the league in tackles with 89 total tackles and he's also been able to come up with four sacks, one interceptions and one forced fumble. Linebacker Chris Ackie has also been solid for Montreal by coming up with 81 total tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and two interceptions. Second-year defensive back Branden Dozier has 84 total tackles and he is tied for the league lead in interceptions with five.
Toronto Argonauts Stats
Toronto has also struggled on both sides of the ball this year. They have scored just 21.6 points per game and they rank in the bottom two in both possession time and rushing yards. Their defense has been the worst in the league for most of the year by allowing opposing offenses to score 31.6 points per game against them and coming away with the least amount of sacks and interceptions in the CFL.
The Argonauts' top offensive threat this year has been wide receiver S.J. Green, who has caught 69 passes for 918 yards and four touchdowns. Running back James Wilder Jr. has averaged 4.7 yards per carry on the season and he has 691 yards and three scores. Quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson has completed 65.5 percent of his passes for 2,007 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Through Toronto's defense has been poor this year, one player who has done a great job has been defensive end Shawn Lemon, who has 10 sacks to go along with his 15 total tackles. Defensive back Ronnie Yell is having the best year of his career by coming up with 44 total tackles, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles.
