Edmonton Eskimos Stats
The Eskimos have played extremely well on the offensive side of the ball this year, but they have struggled a bit on defense. They are currently second in the league with 261 points scored, first in passing yards and passing touchdowns, and they are second in possession time by holding onto the ball for just over 32 minutes per game. On defense, they are ranked near the bottom of the league in points allowed with 222, but they are second in team sacks with 22.
As expected, Edmonton's best all-around player has been quarterback Mike Reilly, who has completed 67.6 percent of his passes for 3,046 yards, 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Reilly has also been an impressive running threat for the team as he already has 229 yards and a league-high eight touchdown runs. The Eskimos' top receiver has been D'haquille Williams, who has caught 48 passes and currently leads the CFL in receiving yards with 831.
Eskimos veteran linebacker J.C. Sherritt is currently enjoying one of his best seasons as a pro by picking up 48 total tackles and also matching his career high in sacks with three. Second-year defensive end Kwaku Boateng has also been quite good, coming up with five sacks to go along with his nine tackles. No one on the team has two or more interceptions, but nine different players do have one apiece.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats Stats
Hamilton's biggest problem on offense this year has been their line, which has allowed their quarterback to be sacked 21 times so far. Other than that, they have been solid on that side of the ball, ranking near the top of the league in scoring, passing yards, and rushing yards. Their defense has also been stout, allowing just 176 points and forcing seven fumbles.
Hamilton quarterback Jeremiah Masoli is having a down year by his standards, throwing for 2,465 yards with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. Wide receiver Brandon Banks is having another great season for the Tiger-Cats, catching 51 passes for 718 yards and three touchdowns. Masoli leads the team in rushing yards with 287, while Mercer Timmis and Alex Green share the team lead in rushing scores with four apiece.
Tiger-Cats linebacker Simoni Lawrence leads the team with 43 total tackles while also coming up with two sacks. Rookie defensive back Jumal Rolle is the team leader in interceptions with two and he has also picked up 19 tackles. DB Don Unamba and tackle Ted Laurent currently share the team lead in sacks with three each.
