By looking at Calgary's team stats, it is easy to understand why they have had the best record in the league for the majority of the season. Their offense is near or at the top of the league in multiple categories, including passing touchdowns, time of possession, and fewest sacks allowed. Their defense has been even better, allowing the fewest number of points in the CFL (325) while also leading the league in team sacks with 18.
Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has been one of the best signal callers in the CFL this year as he has been able to throw for 4,572 yards with a league-high 33 touchdowns and just 14 interceptions. Wide receiver Kamar Jorden has also been solid, catching 55 passes for 944 yards and six scores. The team's top running threat has been Don Jackson, who has averaged 5.6 yards per carry this year and now has 795 yards on the ground with two touchdowns.
Veteran defensive lineman Micah Johnson is having the best season of his career for the Stampeders by picking up 12 sacks, one interception and three forced fumbles. Defensive back Emanuel Davis is also having a good season in his first season with Calgary by picking up 50 total tackles with a team-best four interceptions. Third-year linebacker Alex Singleton has two forced fumbles on the season and he is the CFL leader in total tackles with 113.

Winnipeg has arguably the best offense in the CFL right now while their defense is also right there near the top in terms of overall production. On offense the Blue Bombers have been able to score over 31 points per game and they have 2,103 rushing yards as a team, which is nearly 300 yards better than the next-highest team. Their defense has also been quite solid, giving up just 22.8 points per game while also coming up with 41 sacks and 19 interceptions.
Blue Bombers running back Andrew Harris has had an excellent season by rushing for 1,269 yards with eight touchdowns while averaging 5.7 yards per carry. Wide receiver Darvin Adams has also been a standout performer for the team by catching 56 passes for 902 yards and nine scores.
Winnipeg linebacker Adam Bighill has been one of the top defensive players this season by picking up 102 total tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, and three forced fumbles. Defensive back and punt returner Kevin Fogg has also been solid by grabbing four interceptions, forcing three fumbles, and also recovering three fumbles.
