Both teams have played well on the defensive side of the ball so far this year, but Calgary has clearly been the better offensive team. When these two teams played each other a few weeks ago, the Stampeders were able to pull off a 34-22 home win. It would be surprising if the Roughriders were to pick up the win in this game.

On offense they are second in scoring with over 29 points per game, they've only turned the ball over 12 times, and they currently lead the league in possession time. They are even better on defense, giving up just 12 points per game while also forcing the most fumbles in the league.
Calgary has been led by quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, who is fourth in the league in passing yards with 1,887 and second in the league in passing touchdowns with 13. Running back Don Jackson has been very impressive too, rushing for 442 yards with averaging 6.5 yards per carry.
The Stampeders have had plenty of players step up to new levels this season, but Micah Johnson has arguably been the team's best player by picking up a team-high four sacks while also forcing a league-best four fumbles. Third-year middle linebacker Alex Singleton has also had a very good start to the campaign as he currently leads the team with 49 total tackles and he's also forced one fumble. Defensive backs Brandon Smith and Emmanuel Davis are tied for the team lead in interceptions with two apiece.
Saskatchewan Roughriders Stats
Saskatchewan has struggled a bit recently, and a lot of their struggles have to do with their offensive play. They are currently in the bottom half of the league in scoring and they are last in the league in both passing yards and rushing touchdowns. The defense has been pretty good, though, giving up just 25 points per game and they are in the top three in both sacks and forced fumbles.
Brandon Bridge, who is Saskatchewan's quarterback while Zach Collaros is out injured, has completed 65.4 percent of his passes this year for 669 yards and three touchdowns. The team's top receiver has been veteran Naaman Roosevelt, who has caught 23 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Rookie running back Tre Mason has a team-high 251 rushing yards but has yet to get into the end zone.
Saskatchewan's top defensive player has once again been Charleston Hughes, who is leading the league in sacks by a wide margin with nine. Linebacker Samuel Eguavoen has also had a really good start to the season by picking up 38 total tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles.
