Calgary Stampeders Stats
Calgary is having such a solid season because they have been able to perform consistently on both sides of the ball. Their offense is second in scoring, first in touchdown passes, second ion possession time, and they have given up the fewest sacks in the league. Their defense has been even better as they have given up the fewest points in the CFL and they lead the league in forced fumbles with 19.
Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell is having yet another exceptional season by throwing for 4,846 yards with 34 touchdowns and only 14 interceptions. One of his top targets has been Kamar Jorden, who has caught 55 passes on the year and six touchdowns. Their go-to running back has been rookie Don Jackson, who has averaged 5.6 yards per carry and now has 833 yards on the season.
Calgary linebacker Alex Singleton has played like an All-Star all season this year and he is currently the league's leader in tackles with 115. Singleton has been great, but defensive lineman Micah Johnson has arguably been even better as he has been able to come up with 13 sacks and three forced fumbles through 17 games. Veteran defensive back Emanuel Davis has 51 tackles on the season and he leads the team in interceptions with four.
BC Lions Stats
BC has found ways to win this season despite not having a very strong offense or defense to lean on. They are near the bottom of the league in points scored and they have turned the ball over more than any other team, but their ground game has been above average. Their defense has given up 26.3 points per game, but they have done a good job of causing opposing quarterbacks problems as they lead the league in interceptions with 21.
Travis Lulay has been BC's top-performing quarterback this year by completing 60 percent of his passes for 2,383 yards and 13 touchdowns. Wide receiver DeVier Posey, who picked up the CFL Top Performer of the Week award for Week 19, has now caught 25 passes on the year for 333 yards and three scores. Running back Jeremiah Johnson now has 633 yards and five touchdowns on the year and he has been able to average 5.3 yards per carry.
Lions defensive lineman Odell Willis has 21 total tackles this season and he is currently third in the league in sacks with 11. Defensive back Anthony Orange has also had a very solid year for BC in 2018 by coming up with 47 tackles and five interceptions.
