BC Lions Stats
BC was able to make the playoffs despite finishing near the bottom of the league in both scoring and points allowed. Their offense was in the bottom-half of the league in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and rushing yards, and they had the second-most turnovers in the league. Their defense was a bit better as they were able to finish the regular season with the most interceptions and pass knockdowns in the league, though they did give over 26 points per game.
Lions wide receiver DeVier Posey, who was named CFL Top Performers of the Week for his Week 19 performance, caught 29 passes during the regular season for 395 yards and three touchdowns. Veteran quarterback Travis Lulay had a pretty good bounce-back year this year by throwing for 2,494 yards with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The team's leading rusher has been Jeremiah Johnson, who had 633 rushing yards and five touchdowns while averaging 5.3 yards per carry.
One of BC's top standouts on the defensive side of the ball has been defensive back Anthony Orange, who in his first year with the team finished the regular season with a league-high five interceptions while also coming up with 54 tackles. Veteran defensive end Odell Willis will also be a player to watch during the Western Semi-Finals as he finished the season ranked near the top of the league in sacks with 11.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats Stats
Hamilton had one of the better all-around teams in the CFL during the regular season this year. Their offense finished in the top three in scoring, passing yards, rushing yards, and possession time, but they did struggle a bit with turnovers. Their defense wasn't able to pick up too many sacks this year or force too many fumbles, but they did end up in the top-half of the league in fewest points allowed.
Tiger-Cats quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, who was named CFL Top Performer of the Month in September, completed 66 percent of his passes during the regular season for 5,209 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. Wide receiver Brandon Banks is having his best season as he has caught 94 passes for 1,423 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Tiger-Cats' defense has been led by defensive back Cariel Brooks, who had 57 total tackles this year and a team-best four interceptions. Linebacker Larry Dean wasn't able to pick up any sacks for the first time in his career, but he did finish near the top of the league in tackles with 105.
