Right-handed fireballer Stephen Strasburg will be going for his third consecutive win on Monday night when the Washington Nationals face Ryan Vogelsong and the San Francisco Giants.

Stephen Strasburg had another solid outing last week against the Philadelphia Phillies when he went seven innings and struck out 11 batters. He allowed just two earned runs on seven hits in that outing and walked no one. Strasburg is now 5-4 on the year and currently has the highest strikeout rate in the majors at 11.2 strikeouts per nine innings.

Giants catcher Buster Posey does have two hits in his seven at-bats against Strasburg, but he has also been struck out four times. Outfielder Hunter Pence is the only player on the Giants who has hit a home run off of the right-hander.

Last week, Ryan Vogelsong won for the fourth time this year when he beat the Cincinnati Reds on the road. He went 6.1 innings in that start and allowed two runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out a season-high nine batters. He now has a 4-2 record and a solid 3.39 ERA on the season.

Nationals left fielder Ryan Zimmerman has three hits, including a double, in six at-bats against Vogelsong with two walks and no strikeouts. First baseman Adam LaRoche is just 1-for-5 against the big right-hander with two RBI, a walk and a strikeout.
