Coming off of his best start of the season, Jordan Zimmermann will look to take that momentum into his start on Sunday when the Washington Nationals take on Eric Stults and the San Diego Padres.

Jordan Zimmermann had his longest outing of the year on Tuesday when he pitched eight scoreless innings against the Philadelphia Phillies on his way to picking up his fourth win. He allowed just five hits in that outing and walked one while striking out four. Zimmermann now owns a 4-2 record this season and has 54 strikeouts in 67.2 innings while walking just 14 batters.

Will Venable is one Padre who does not like facing Zimmermann, getting just one hit against him in 15 career at-bats. Yonder Alonso is 3-for-7 against the right-hander and is the only player on the Padres who has hit a home run off of him.

Lefty Eric Stults lost for the sixth time this year when he was defeated by the Chicago White Sox on the road last week. He went six innings in that game and gave up four earned runs on five hits while walking one and striking out six. So far this season, Stults has allowed 11.5 hits per nine innings, which is the highest rate against him since 2007.

Kevin Frandsen probably won't be in the lineup for the Nats on Sunday because he is just 1-for-11 against Stults.
