Right-hander Tanner Roark (12-10) will try to snap his current three-game losing skid on Thursday night when he and the Washington Nationals take on Bartolo Colon (13-11) and the New York Mets

Last weekend, Tanner Roark had a decent start against the Philadelphia Phillies, but he ended up with the loss. He pitched six innings in that game and gave up three runs on six base hits while striking out eight batters and walking one. Roark still has a solid 2.97 ERA on the year and he has given up just 161 hits in his 179 innings on the mound.

Mets outfielder Eric Young is 3-for-10 against Roark in his career with a double and three RBI. Ruben Tejada is just 1-for-7 against him with an RBI and a strikeout.

Right-hander Bartolo Colon pitched a strong seven innings against the Cincinnati Reds in his last start and picked up his 13th win of the year in the process. He allowed two runs on seven base hits in that start and walked one batter while striking out two. Colon currently has a 3.96 ERA and he has only walked 1.2 batters per nine innings.

Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond has four hits in nine at-bats against Colon in his career with two home runs and three RBI. Third baseman Anthony Rendon is just 2-for-10 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.
