On Tuesday, Jordan Zimmermann will look to end his string of bad-luck losses when the Washington Nationals go up against veteran right-hander Yovani Gallardo and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Jordan Zimmermann pitched well against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday, but he ended up taking the loss after getting no help from his offense. He gave up just two runs in seven innings in that game while walking one and striking out six. Zimmermann has a 5-4 record this season with a 2.95 ERA and he has only given up six homers in 91.2 innings pitched.

Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez has seven hits in 19 at-bats against Zimmermann with three doubles, a home run and two RBI. Outfielder Carlos Gomez has no hits in 10 at-bats against him with a walk and six strikeouts.

Yovani Gallardo had a solid start against the Arizona Diamondbacks last week and was able to pick up his fifth win of the year. He allowed just one run on five hits in seven innings of work in that game while walking no one and striking out four. He is now 5-4 this season with a 3.34 ERA and he has struck out 72 batters in 91.2 innings.

Nationals first baseman Adam LaRoche has a .346 batting average against Gallardo in 26 at-bats with three doubles, two home runs and six RBI. Outfielder Denard Span is just 1-for-16 against him with three strikeouts.
