The Washington Nationals will send Gio Gonzalez to the mound on Monday night and he will have to go up against Matt Garza and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Against the Houston Astros last week, left-hander Gio Gonzalez gave up four earned runs in five innings of work in his first start off of the disabled list, but he took the no decision rather than the loss. He gave up five hits in that start and walked three while striking out six. Through 10 starts, Gonzalez is 2-4 with a 4.85 ERA, but he has been able to strike out 59 batters in 55.2 innings.

Brewers first baseman Mark Reynolds has no hits in six at-bats against Gonzalez with four walks and four strikeouts. All-Star Ryan Braun is just 1-for-6 against him with an RBI and two strikeouts.

Last Wednesday, Matt Garza pitched 7.2 strong innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but all he could get out of that start was a no decision. He allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits in 7.2 innings of work in that game, and he struck out four while walking no one. Garza is 4-4 this season and he has only given up seven home runs in 94 innings.

Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth has three hits in 10 at-bats against Garza with a home run and two RBI. Ian Desmond is 0-for-6 against him with a walk and three strikeouts.
