Right-hander Doug Fister (14-6), who has won two games in a row, will make the start for the Washington Nationals on Friday night when they take on Tom Koehler (9-9) and the Miami Marlins.

Last Saturday, Doug Fister won his second game in a row when he defeated the New York Mets on the road. The right-hander pitched six innings in that start and gave up three runs (two earned) while walking one batter and striking out three. Fister has a very solid 2.55 ERA and he has only walked 22 batters in 148.1 innings this year.

Marlins catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia is 5-for-11 against Fister in his career with two doubles and a solo home run. Garrett Jones is just 1-for-6 against him with no walks and three strikeouts.

Tom Koehler picked up his fifth consecutive no decision on Sunday after pitching six pretty good innings against the Philadelphia Phillies on the road. He gave up three runs (two earned) in that game and walked one hitter while striking out two. He now has a 3.71 ERA on the year and he has given up just 163 hits in 179.1 innings.

Nats veteran Jayson Werth has three hits in his nine at-bats versus Koehler with two home runs and five RBI. Third baseman Anthony Rendon is just 1-for-5 against him with three walks and two strikeouts.
