On Tuesday, Stephen Strasburg will be hoping that he can end his two-game losing streak when he and the Washington Nationals go up against All-Star Henderson Alvarez and the Miami Marlins.

Stephen Strasburg could only make it through 5.1 innings last Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies and ended up suffering his eighth loss of the season. He gave up four earned runs on nine base hits in that outing and walked three while striking out five. On the year, Strasburg is now 7-8 for the Nats with a 3.67 ERA and he has struck out 10.7 batters per nine innings, which is one of the best strikeout rates in the majors.

Strasburg has never been a fan of facing Marlins All-Star Giancarlo Stanton, who is 9-for-26 against him with four doubles, three home runs and eight RBI.

In his last start, Henderson Alvarez pitched a solid eight innings against the Atlanta Braves on the road and came away with his seventh win of the year. He gave up just two runs on six hits in that start and walked one while striking out four. Alvarez is now 7-5 for the Marlins with an excellent 2.62 ERA despite only striking out 79 batters in 130.2 innings.

Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper has six hits in his 13 at-bats against Alvarez with a double, two home runs and four RBI. Adam LaRoche is also 6-for-13 against him with a double and two walks.
