On Thursday night, Gio Gonzalez will try to win his fourth consecutive game when he and the Washington Nationals take on right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez and the Baltimore Orioles.

Last Saturday, left-hander Gio Gonzalez pitched eight scoreless innings against the Chicago Cubs in Washington and picked up his sixth win of the year. He gave up just four hits in those eight innings and struck out seven batters while walking just one. Gonzalez is now 6-4 for the Nationals this season and he has struck out 78 batters in 76.2 innings while only giving up five home runs.

Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis has fie hits in his 16 at-bats against Gonzalez with a double and three RBI. None of the current O's have been able to hit a home run off of the lefty yet.

Ubaldo Jimenez could only make it through 3.2 innings against the Boston Red Sox on the road in his last start, but he ended up with a no decision rather than a loss. He gave up four earned runs on five hits in that outing while striking out four and walking six. Jimenez currently has a 3-8 record in his first season with the Orioles and has walked 60 batters in 99.2 innings.

Nationals first baseman Adam LaRoche has seven hits in his 20 at-bats against Jimenez with three doubles, a home run and four RBI.
