Saturday night Taylor Jordan will take the mound for the Washington Nationals as they face Alex Wood and the Atlanta Braves.   Jordan will be making his 2nd start of the season as Wood makes his 3rd.

Taylor Jordan came away with a no decision in his first start after going 6.1 innings and giving up just a run on 6 hits while striking out 3 and walking 2.  The solid start could lead to a much better season than 2013 when Jordan was 1 - 3 in 9 starts for the Nationals, earning an ERA of 3.66. 

Last season, Jordan started one game against the Braves and got a no decision after surrendering 2 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings of work.  He struck out 3 and walked 3 in that game.  No one on the Braves roster has more than 2 hits against Jordan and only Dan Uggla has an RBI to go with his 1 hit in 2 at-bats.

Alex Wood comes into his third start after going 1 – 1 in his first two.   His loss came in his last start, where he went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 4.   Last season, Wood split his time between the bullpen and the starting rotation as he went 3 - 3 with an ERA of 3.13 in 31 appearances with 11 starts.      

Wood started 2 games against the Nationals in 2013 without getting a decision in either one.  He gave up 11 hits and 3 runs in 11 innings with an ERA of 0.82.   Washington’s Anthony Rendon could be trouble for Wood as he is 5 of 7 with a .714 average against him.
