Hard-throwing righty Brandon Morrow will be on the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday as they take on Chris Archer and the Tampa Bay Rays. Morrow comes in as the Blue Jays' fifth starter after dealing with multiple injuries in 2013 and struggling during Spring Training. Last year, he only made 10 starts and had a dismal 5.63 ERA. He will be hoping to put up numbers like he had in 2012 when he posted a 2.96 ERA in 21 starts.

Morrow has a lot of experience against the current Rays, but some of their guys have hit him pretty well. One player in particular, Desmond Jennings, has had a lot of success against Morrow. Jennings has seven hits in 13 career at-bats against the righty, including four home runs.

Chris Archer had a great first full season with the Rays in 2013. He made 23 starts and had a very respectable 3.22 ERA and 1.127 WHIP. Opposing batters were only able to get 107 hits against him in 128.2 innings. The young fire baller did well enough to come in third in the AL for the Rookie of the Year award.

Brett Lawrie has faced Archer eight times so far in his career and has gotten three hits off of him. Edwin Encarnacion is the only current Ray to hit a home run against Archer, but that was his only hit in seven plate appearances.
