On Friday night, Mark Buehrle will be looking to win his first game since June 1 when he and the Toronto Blue Jays take on Chris Archer and the Tampa Bay Rays.

Veteran left-hander Mark Buehrle lost for the fifth time in six games last Saturday when he was beaten by the Oakland Athletics on the road. He pitched six innings in that outing and gave up three earned runs on 10 hits while walking one batter and striking out three. Despite the recent string of losses, Buehrle is still 10-6 for the Blue Jays this season with a solid 2.60 ERA.

Rays third baseman Evan Longoria has 10 hits in 31 at-bats against Buehrle in his career with two doubles, a home run and five RBI. Outfielder Desmond Jennings is 7-for-18 against him with a double and three walks.

Third-year starter Chris Archer won his fifth game of the year by defeating the Detroit Tigers on the road last Saturday. He pitched a season-high 8.1 innings in that game and gave up just two runs on six hits while striking out four batters and walking four. Archer has struck out 94 batters in 108.1 innings this year and has only given up five home runs.

Blue Jays All-Star Jose Bautista has just one hit in his 11 at-bats versus Archer with a walk and a strikeout. Shortstop Jose Reyes is 4-for-7 against him with two walks.
