R.A. Dickey will try to keep his losing streak from getting to four consecutive games when he and the Toronto Blue Jays face Sonny Gray and the Oakland Athletics on Thursday night .

On Sunday, R.A. Dickey gave up five earned runs in six innings of work against the Chicago White Sox and ended up suffering his seventh loss of the season. He allowed five hits in that outing and walked one batter while striking out nine. Through 17 starts, Dickey is 6-7 with a 4.24 ERA and he has struck out 7.6 batters per nine innings.

A's outfielder Coco Crisp has just two hits in 22 at-bats against Dickey in his career with a walk and five strikeouts. Third baseman Josh Donaldson is 3-for-7 against the right-hander with two walks and an RBI.

On Monday, right-hander Sonny Gray gave up five runs to the Miami Marlins on the road, but he came away with a no decision rather than a loss. He pitched five innings in that game and gave up seven hits and walked three while striking out four batters. On the year, Gray has only given up 90 hits in 104 innings and he has surrendered just six home runs.

Blue Jays All-Star Jose Bautista has three hits in three at-bats against Gray in his career with a home run and two RBI. Edwin Encarnacion is 0-for-3 against him with no strikeouts.
