On Wednesday night, Mark Buehrle will be hoping to end his two-game losing streak when the Toronto Blue Jays go up against Chase Whitley and the New York Yankees.

Left-hander Mark Buehrle lost for the second consecutive outing last week against the Baltimore Orioles when he gave up four runs on eight hits in 6.1 innings of work. He gave up eight hits in that game and walked one while only striking out three. Despite the rough stretch for Buehrle, he is still 10-3 on the season and should be on the American League All-Star team this season.

Buehrle has never liked facing Yankees outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, who is 24-for-57 against him with a double, a triple, five RBI and just three strikeouts. Alfonso Soriano is 9-for-45 against him, but he does have three home runs off of the southpaw.

Last week, rookie Chase Whitley made his sixth start of the season and was able to win his second consecutive game by beating the Seattle Mariners on the road. He went a season-high 7.2 innings in that outing and allowed two runs on five hits while walking no one and striking out six. Whitley has been great for the Yankees in his short career, going 2-0 with a solid 2.41 ERA in 33.2 innings.

The Blue Jays will be going up against the young right-hander for the first time on Wednesday night.
