On Thursday night, 23-year-old starter Drew Hutchison will take the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays and will be facing David Phelps and the New York Yankees

Last Friday, Drew Hutchison won for the fifth time this year when he beat the Baltimore Orioles on the road. He pitched seven scoreless innings in that outing and gave up just six hits while striking out three and walking no one. Hutchison is now 5-4 on the season with a 3.62 ERA and he has struck out 70 batters in 82 innings.

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has gone up against Hutchison six times and has three hits off of him. Outfielder Brett Gardner is 1-for-2 against him and is the only player on New York who has been able to hit a home run off of the right-hander.

Last week, David Phelps was able to pick up his second win of the season when he pitched 6.2 scoreless innings against the Oakland Athletics on the road. He gave up just two hits in that game and walked three while striking out four. Phelps has pitched a lot better recently and has only given up five home runs in 58.1 innings of work.

Third baseman Brett Lawrie has just one hit in 11 at-bats versus Phelps with two strikeouts, while Adam Lind is 4-for-11 against him with two doubles, two home runs and three RBI.
