Saturday afternoon, Marcus Stroman (10 – 6, 3.80 ERA) will take his turn for the Toronto Blue Jays as they face Chris Capuano (2 -3, 4.55 ERA) and the New York Yankees.   Stroman will be making his 20th start and 25th appearance and Capuano will make his 11th start and 39th appearance.

Chris Capuano pitched well in his last start but couldn’t avoid getting his 3rd straight no-decision.   Capuano held the opposition scoreless in 6 innings and allowed 2 hits and 4 walks while striking out 4.  It was the 1st time in his last 10 appearances that Capuano didn’t allow any runs.  He is just 1 - 2 in those last 10 appearances.  Last season, he started 20 games and made 4 relief appearances for the Los Angeles Dodgers en route to a 4 -7 record and a 4.26 ERA.

Capuano escaped with a no-decision in his only start against the Blue Jays in 2013 despite allowing 5 runs and 7 hits (including 2 homers) in 4.1 innings.  He is 1 – 0 in 5 appearances against Toronto this season.
