Phil Hughes will be hoping to have his first solid start of the season when the Minnesota Twins host Brandon Morrow and the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Brandon Morrow is coming off of a nine-strikeout outing against the the Houston Astros in which he got his first win of the season. He did give up three runs in his six innings of work, but his team was able to give him the run support that he needed to pick up the victory. Morrow's ERA is now 5.73, but his FIP (2.58) shows that he has pitched pretty well through his first two games.

Morrow has gotten the best of his matchups with Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki by allowing just two hits in 12 plate appearances. Joe Mauer has a hit, a walk and an RBI in six matchups against the righty.

Phil Hughes only gave up five hits in five innings of work in his last outing, but the Oakland Athletics were able to score four runs off of him to get him out of the game early. Hughes still doesn't have a loss on his record, but he does have a dismal 7.20 ERA in 10 innings pitched.

Toronto's Adam Lind has faced Hughes 46 times in his career and has nine hits, including four doubles and two home runs. Hughes has been able to fan him 14 times, though, so it has been a pretty even matchup over the years.
