Toronto Blue Jays starter J.A. Happ (8-5) will be hoping to get off to a good start in August when he faces Collin McHugh (4-9) and the Houston Astros on Friday night.

On Sunday, big lefty J.A. Happ pitched 5.1 innings against the New York Yankees on the road and ended up with a no decision. He allowed three runs on four hits in that game and struck out three batters while walking two. On the year, Happ now has a 4.58 ERA for the Blue Jays and has given up 97 hits in 88.1 innings.

Astros first baseman Jesus Guzman has one hit in three at-bats against Happ in his career with a double. Designated hitter Chris Carter is the only other Astros' player who has faced Happ and is 0-for-2 against him with a walk and a strikeout.

Collin McHugh had his losing streak extended to six games on Sunday when he was beaten by the Miami Marlins at home. He pitched 6.1 innings in that start and gave up four runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out nine. Despite this rough patch, McHugh still has a solid 3.45 ERA this season and has struck out 102 batters on 88.2 innings.

Blue Jays infielder Juan Francisco is 1-for-3 against McHugh with a home run and two RBI, while shortstop Jose Reyes is 1-for-1 against him with a triple.
