Former Cy Young award winner R.A. Dickey will take the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night and will be going up against Cincinnati Reds starter Mat Latos.

R.A. Dickey lost for the fifth time this season on Saturday when he was defeated by the Baltimore Orioles on the road. He went 6.2 innings in that game and allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits while walking two and striking out four. He is 6-5 so far this season with a 4.08 ERA and he has struck out 72 batters in 90.1 innings.

Outfielder Roger Bernadina has three hits in 12 at-bats against Dickey with no extra-base hits and three strikeouts. Jay Bruce is 3-for-9 against the right-hander with a double and a home run.

26-year-old Mat Latos made his first start of the season last weekend against the Milwaukee Brewers and was able to pitch six strong innings against them. He ended up with a no decision after allowing no runs on two hits and striking out four without walking a batter. He threw 60 of his 87 pitches for strikes in that game.

Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes has had more success against Latos than any of his teammates by going 4-for-10 against him with two doubles and an RBI. None of the Mets have been able to hit a home run off of him yet.
