Thursday night, the Toronto Blue Jays will give the ball to Mark Buehrle as they take on the Boston Red Sox and Jon Lester.  Both pitchers will be making their 10th starts of the season.

Jon Lester saw his record fall to 4 – 5 with a 2.67 ERA after taking a loss in his last start.  In that outing, Lester gave up just a run on 4 hits in 5 innings of work.  A rain delay and lack of scoring were more to blame for the loss than Lester.  Last season, Lester was 15 – 8 with a 3.75 ERA in 33 starts. 

In 2013, Lester was 4 – 0 with a 2.55 ERA in 6 starts against the Blue Jays.  This season, Lester lost his only start to Toronto after allowing 4 runs on 5 hits in 7 innings of work.
